The Arizona Diamondbacks helped themselves and hurt the Florida Marlins today. Despite having Dontrelle Willis on the mound, the Florida Marlins couldn’t get it together. Their bats fell quite all game as they tapped out 4 hits. The Diamondbacks doubled up their hit count and pushed across 4 runs to beat the Marlins 4-0.
Tonight, the Mets and D-backs go at it for the second time in this series. The Mets are sending veteran Steven Trachsel to the mound to face Miguel Batista of the D-backs. The D-backs are a very slight favorite in this one and the under/over is 10. Last night the game was all about the Mets who scored 7 runs. The D-backs scored one lone run and were nowhere to be found. Hernandez was the winner for the Mets and Vargas got the loss for the D-backs.
On Tuesday, the house of Jason Grimsley, a reliever for the Arizona Diamondbacks, was raided by thirteen federal agents. The federal agents searched through Grimsley’s house for approximately six hours, but details of the search appear to be under wraps. The raid is in connection with the on-going BALCO steroids case. Apparently Jason Grimsley was participating in the case, but withdrew his participating in April.
