The slumping Chicago White Sox mustered a win today—albeit against the horrible Kansas City Royals. All the damage, and scoring, was done in the first three innings. The White Sox scored 3 in the first, 2 in the second and 3 in the third. The Royals just didn’t have enough offensive power to hang around. The final score was 8-4 White Sox.
Jose Contreras continues his path of victories—after a minor hiccup. He’s 10-3 on the season. Contreras went 7 innings today and allowed 3 runs over 11 baserunners. It was a pretty good outing for him and another victory.
Runelvys Hernandez was horrible—big surprise. He’s 2-6 on the season and tonight’s performance tells you why. He lasted just 3 innings. Over those 3 innings, he gave up 8 runs on 8 hits and 2 walks. Pretty much everyone has a taste of his pitching.
The White Sox climb back on the horse, but they still have a good amount of distance to make up. The Tigers are 7.5 games in front of them in the AL Central. They are tied for the Wild Card spot though.
