With 169 MLB games so far this season, there’s one trend that has taken shape. Road teams are where it’s at. Road teams have won just over 50% of the games (86 of 169) and road favorites are cleaning up.

While betting on every underdog this season would net you a loss, doing so on all the road dogs would only hurt a little. The dogs are -30.6 units this season, but dogs on the road are just -6 units of that. Even dogs are playing better on the road.

If you bet every favorite at home, you’d be up 1.8 units. However, if you just bet on every road team, you’d be stockpiling 23.58 units.

Do you like betting those juicy underdogs? So far this season, there have been eight games in which the road dog was +200 or more. Road dogs at $2.00 or more are +5.49 units this season.

I don’t expect this trend to continue. I suspect that what we’re seeing is a part in the schedule that has a lot of true favorites on the road and perhaps some teams that have yet to get into the swing of the season. Time will tell.
