Mets Down Reds in Extra Innings

The New York Mets and Cincinnati Reds played extra innings today. The game was all tied 2-2 going into the 10th inning. Endy Chavez hit a crucial double in the Met’s half of the 10th giving the Mets a 4-2 lead. In the bottom of the inning, Billy Wager mowed down the Reds and closed the door.

The win went to Pedro Feliciano. He pitched one solid inning. He’s now 4-2. Gary Majewski gets the loss for the Reds. He just could not get the job done. The save goes to Billy Wager. It’s his 19th save of the season. The Mets ended up taking two of three in this series. The bats on both sides were pretty quiet.

Arroyo went 8 super innings for the reds. He gave up just 2 runs on 6 hits. He also struck out 8 batters. Glavine really got lucky today. He went 6 innings and allowed 13 baserunners (9 hits and 4 walks). He got one lone strike out. Unfortunately for the Reds, they only scored two runs.
