Indians Blank Angels

The Cleveland Indians scored three runs in the second inning and it was all they needed. Despite smacking out 9 hits, the Angels couldn’t put anything together. The Indians ended up scoring 4 runs over 10 hits for the 4-0 win.

Jake Westbrook got the complete game shutout. He allowed 9 hits and 1 walk over his nine innings of work. He struck out 7. The Angels got their licks, but they were not timely.

John Lackey picks up his 8th loss this season. He pitched 6 decent innings. The Indians were able to get their hits in bunches to push across runs. Lackey gave up 9 hits, 3 walks and 3 earned runs over 6 innings.

The Angels didn’t lose any ground, because the AL West leading A’s lost to Texas.
