The LA Angels put another notch in their belt today by beating the White Sox 6-3 in Chicago. The 7th inning was the defining moment. The Angels scored 3 in the top of the 7th to go up 6-2 and put the game away. The White Sox hitters were silent all game. Only Iguchi and Thome had hits.
Kelvim Escobar hot his 8th win of the season. He’s 8-9 now. Francisco Rodriguez game on in the 9th and picked up his 27th save. Buehrle drops another game and is now 9-10 on the season. Both starters had similar outings as far as the hits go. Unfortunately for Buehrle, the Angels managed to bunch up their runs.
With the loss, the White Sox now sit 10 games out. They are falling fast and are in real danger of not making the playoffs at all. The Tigers have the peddle to the metal and they are not letting up. The Angels pick up a win and will probably keep pace with Oakland, who’s winning their game right now.
