Yesterday (April 1) it was best to have your baseball bets on the favorites and on the home teams. If you like betting the totals, the under ruled the day by far.

The home teams won 5 of the 8 games and the favorites picked up 5 of 8 as well. The only home dog to win was the Florida Marlins (+175) who beat the New York Mets 5-4.

The offensive output just wasn’t there yesterday. It’s early, so expect the bats to be a little soft. Two of the games pushed on the totals. Of the remaining 6 games, 5 went under the total. The only game to go over the total (by 1 run) was the Los Angeles Angels at the Minnesota Twins. The Angels picked up that game 9-1.

Perhaps surprisingly, the two biggest favorites of the day—Mets & Martinez at -195 and Mariners & Hernandez at -190—both lost. And in both games, the bullpens were to blame. Although you could blame Martinez for giving up 4 runs in 3.1 innings, but in the end the bullpens gave up the winning runs on both games.

There’s no soft way to put, or Putz, it. The Mariners bullpen lost the game tonight. Could this be a sign of things to come?

Felix Hernandez (King Felix) pitched very well, going 7 innings and only giving up a lone run while striking out 3.

However, once he exited, the game took a turn for the worst. O’Flaherty came in and promptly gave up two runs over three hits. The M’s stormed back in the bottom of the 8th to take the lead. All is well with closer J.J. Putz coming in right? Wrong.

Putz instantly gave up the lead by surrendering a 2-run jack. M’s lose.

MLB bettors need to be cautious when Hernandez is on the mound in 2008.

Time to spice things up. Think you can pick the winners? How about picking a loser?

BetUS.com has offered up action on picking managers to get the axe or quit in the 2008 MLB season.

Will Joe Girardi of the New York Yankees be thrown out at home if they come in 2nd to the Boston Red Sox again? He’s listed at 14-1.

The 2008 MLB season is almost ready to go. Technically, it started already with the great series between the Boston Red Sox and Oakland A’s in Japan.

If you’re looking to prove your baseball picking skills, there’s still time to get a 2008 MLB futures bet down. Today, I’m bringing you the updated 2008 MLB World Series odds from BetUS.com. As you’ll see, they are pretty much inline with Vegas.

The New York Mets picked up starting pitcher Johan Santana from the Minnesota Twins and everyone and their mother decided to declare them National League champs. If you we’re thinking of betting them to win the NL, your time has passed.

Before the Santana trade, the Mets were 4-1 to win the National League Pennant. Even though I think that was a bit high, it was still a decent price for the Mets. However, after the Santana trade (as of now), the Mets are a gross 5-2 (2.5-1). No thanks.

Hunting down MLB odds can be a pain in the butt. There are so many sports betting sites that claim to offer MLB odds, but don’t—or they offer limited MLB Odds.

Today, I wanted to share with you a couple well-known places to get your MLB odds. These are all direct links, so you won’t have to wade through tons of sports betting information to get to them.

First up is Vegas Insider. I like their MLB odds page, because it’s fairly clean. Their page shows MLB odds for Las Vegas sportsbooks, such as the LV Hilton, MGM Mirage, Wynn and Caesars, and online sportsbooks, such as Sportsbook.com and Bodog.com.

We’re still a few months away from the 2008 MLB season, but I thought it would be good to check out some MLB futures.

There isn’t much of a surprise in the American League’s MLB futures. The Boston Red Sox are favored to win the American League Pennant and the New York Yankees are a close second. The Angels, Tigers and Indians are right there too.

The three long shots—or teams to kiss your money goodbye as I like to say—are the Kansas City Royals, Baltimore Orioles and Tampa Bay Rays.

Over in the National League’s MLB futures the New York Mets are the favorite. Sorry, I’m not buying it. When the New York Mets can learn not to crash and burn, I’ll start considering them a serious contender.

Finding a web hosting provider for your personal or professional site just got a whole lot easier. While browsing around, I located a fantastic search tool that will help you locate a suitable web host.

Yes, I know this is a sports betting blog, but that doesn’t mean you don’t have a personal or professional Web site somewhere for something. Knowing how hard it can be to find a new web host, I thought I’d share.

The site is located at WebHostingChoice.com. It’s as easy as using your favorite search engine. Just type in your requirements—monthly cost, space, setup fees, and bandwidth—and all relevant web hosting providers will be shown to you.

Having tried it myself, I was quickly amazed at how many hosting plans came up. I also like how the site shows the web hosts rating, cost and operating system.

If you don’t want to spend ages finding a new host, give the tool a try.

I’m a winning MLB baseball bettor and one of my secrets is to find the best line for each wager. In the old days, this was a pain in the you know what.

Today, finding the best MLB lines is a snap. If you’re betting online, I’ve got a page for you. It’s over at madduxsports.com and it’s got to be the best baseball odds page I’ve seen.

The baseball odds are laid out in a nice table, sportsbook by sportsbook. For instance, I was looking at the Yankee’s game today. They were a -145 favorite. By using their baseball odds page, I found a place online that’s offering the Yankees up at -132, that’s almost a 10% drop!

If you’re looking for winning MLB baseball picks, Madduxsports.com has a MLB baseball picks service.

According to Madduxsports.com, their full season MLB baseball clients have averaged a 87x vs unit bet return. That means if you’re a $100 player, they would have made you $8,703 per season on average.

And that’s not just last season’s average, it’s based on the last four MLB seasons.

I love betting baseball. It’s a shame that more sports bettors don’t understand just how profitable betting on MLB baseball really is.

By the way, if you’re going to buy MLB baseball picks from a service, make sure you get at least the one-month package. Betting just one or two days won’t give you a fair assessment of their ability. Anyone can and will have swings up and down over a few day span.

If you remember, I told you back on the 8th that the Brewers weren’t as good as their record (Milwaukee Brewers—Best Record, Not Best Team) and I showed you why. I also mentioned that I expected them to slide—and they did.

Keen baseball bettors have been able to main some nice coin on betting against the Brewers of late. The Brewers lost their three-game series against the Mets. They lost their four-game series against the Phillies. They lost their three-game series against the Twins. And they’ve split their three-game series against the Dodgers so far and they get to face Brad Penny tonight.
